AS3: Cloth simulation - Verlet algorithm
Thursday, November 3rd, 2005Here is another AS3.0 performance example. I’ve ported Verlet simulation to AS3.0 (you can see AS2.0 example as well).
I’ve implemented Verlet Engine, you can use as many engine as you want. In example you can see 4 different VerletEngines. You can click on single objects to drag and pin it somwhere, or just release it.
Must have Player 8.5 installed. Try ClothSimulation (320 objects => 80 per VerletEngine, but it was OK for 600 objects).
I cannot release sources now, they are included in bigger project… But I will release them soon.
Enjoy.

Doesn’t work here either - tried Firefox & IE, running FP8.5 in both. I just get 5 rows of different coloured squares, and dozens of squares up the top left all on top of each other. Nothing moving. Clicking any of the squares in rows makes them flick over to the pile on the top left. I can drag the squares around, but they don’t move by themselves.
