Sandy tutorial: .ASE file export
Here is quick tutorial for you: How to create .ase file of your 3D scene
It’s useful for Sandy, but maybe for other purposes, or maybe other Flash 3D engine called PaperVision3D.
1. I’m not writing tutorial how to create 3D scene, so create scene as you want. I’ve created fast lowpolygon human body

2. From main menu choose File > Export, and choose Save as type: ASCII Scene Export (*.ASE)

3. For Sandy these settings are needed and your scene should work:
Check these settings
- Mesh definition
- Materials
- Geometric
- Shapes
- Mapping Coordinates

And that’s all…
Try it in your Sandy project, or try it in example AseTest. You can find it in folder examples/advanced/AseTest (checkout it from SVN: http://code.google.com/p/sandy/source or download from FlashSandy.org
Copy your .ase file to this folder, and in file AseTest.as and in constructor change name of your .ase file
AseParser.parse( _o, ‘human.ASE’ );
Run and test it…
