I’m actually doing my first AIR project and I got caught up on loading XML files that aren’t in the same directory as the SWF. I ended up just putting everything into one directory and loading it the regular AS3 way which works, but I’m curious as to how it would work if i output my SWF to a folder called “swf” which lies in a folder called deploy and my xml lives in a folder called “xml” inside of the deploy folder. It’d be great if you can show how to do this. I was told it has something to do with app-resource but I’m not familiar with that at all and can’t find any good examples online. Thanks.

How about a tutorial on how to make a “mind mapping” front-end similar to Mindomo (www.mindomo.com)?
I’ve always wondered how to make brainstorming maps & trees via Flash/Flex but I can’t find any good resources out there.

It could be a custom component, but it doesn’t have to be.
I’m just basically looking to learn how to “manipulate geometry” with Flex.
If you visit http://www.mindomo.com you’ll see that it’s a Flex app that makes “brainstorm webs” (or “mind maps”) and they have figured out how to automatically place and link (draw lines to) little bubbles on a page, in an intelligent fashion.
I was wondering if you could figure out how exactly they were doing that.
If it seems like something complicated, no worries. I was just curious!

I’m just getting started with FLEX and am completely lost, however, i’m trying to find out how to skin an application in FLEX where 2 or 3 buttons would be available at the top and by clicking you’d be able to change the background and the look of the buttons. I’ve already downloaded the skins plugins for CS3. Any help would be awesome!!!

My name is james and few several week i have been trying to come up with a way to make my site more futuristic i gueess you might say. Ihave been told macromedia is to outdated to make my site site look new and stick out there on the internet. I have two years on dreamweaver and yet am i satified with my site. I am trying to make one in flash but I have not yet found a domain or web host that uloads flash files. Any recommaendtions of web hosts would be appreciated…
